General dentistry is the branch of medicine involving the care and prevention of oral health conditions, diseases and disorders.
Our Philosophy
At Rosehill we have a philosophy of Preventative Dentistry for all.
We try to use preventative care and patient education to preclude the need for treatments and instead promote a healthy smile for life.
Yes, we do cosmetic dentistry, smile designs and tooth whitening etc.. but we strongly believe that you should have a healthy dental foundation on which to place these beautiful restorations.
It is rather like building a lovely new bathroom in a room with rotten floorboards. Pretty soon the bath will be in the living room! And that can leave a tricky mess to correct. So if you are interested in cosmetic dentistry make sure you have “solid floorboards” on which to build it.
Dentists are also responsible for diagnosing conditions that affect the mouth, teeth, gums and jaws, as well as develop the most effective treatment plan with the patient’s best interests in mind.
General dentistry works best when patients use it for preventive care, rather than for corrective treatment. By visiting a dentist and his or her team of hygienists regularly for cleaning and examination, patients can avoid decay and identify potential oral health conditions, such as periodontal disease, in their earliest stages.
But Life is Life and we know that no matter how much you try sometimes dental problems do occur, and when they do we use the latest techniques and materials to restore broken or decayed teeth in the most aesthetic and conservative way.
We make it our mission to create long lasting beautiful smiles and healthy mouths. That’s why we offer the full range of dental services, including all the regular treatments you need to maintain your oral health, including routine dental examinations, hygienist services, emergency dentistry, fillings and extractions.
Our General Dental Services at Rosehill
Regular dental examinations
Regular check ups not only maintain healthy teeth and gums, but keep dental bills low too. Problems picked up at an early stage can often be solved with much more simple and hence less expensive repairs. During your dentist visits in Marple, we’ll check your mouth for signs of disease and screen it for mouth cancer. And because everyone is different, the advised frequency of these visits will be tailored to your own needs.

Hygienist services
Healthy teeth begin with healthy gums, so if you are suffering from bleeding, sensitive or swollen gums, bad breath, or teeth that seem to have moved, it may be time to take a closer look at your gums. Our Hygiene team we can give you advice on how to prevent gum (periodontal) disease, bleeding gums and dental decay. Regular visits to your dentist and hygienist will ensure that any problems are identified quickly so that you can stop gum disease in its tracks.

Fillings
We use the latest techniques and materials to restore broken or decayed teeth in the most aesthetic and conservative way. We prefer to use tooth coloured dental composite for routine fillings, but if you require other dental materials we have them available.

Extractions
Occasionally, the best solution for a badly broken, infected or impacted tooth is to remove it. To reduce your number of appointments you have to make we will plan the best way and time to remove it for you. We will also provide great aftercare for you and fully discuss ways of restoring any spacing if you require it.
