Rosehill Dental Health Assessment

Coming along for a regular Dental Health Inspection is Important.

It means we can monitor the health of your mouth for you.

Catching any problems at an early stage will often avoid the need for complicated fillings and other treatments.

It is suggested that adults and children see their dentist every six months to have their current dental health checked, and dental hygiene maintenance undertaken. This normally means you are :

  • Less likely to have toothache
  • Less likely to need fillings
  • Less likely to have gum disease
  • More likely to keep your teeth for life.
  • A more attractive smile and comfortable mouth

If you need a Dental Health Assessment please contact us we’re happy to help.

We devised the Rosehill Dental Health Assessment which we use to provide a comprehensive assessment of your dental health.

Rosehill Dental Health Check

Our NORMAL ROSEHILL PATIENT DENTAL HEALTH EXAMINATION will include checking and reviewing the following

Medical history

  • It is vital that we know of any significant changes in your general health, especially any conditions or medication which may affect your care. Many medicines have affects on the gums and oral health, and what dental treatments may be safe for you to consider.

General Dental Health

  • We listen to and address any concerns you may have about your oral health and we will check many things that make up your general dental health of your mouth. Including:

Teeth

  • We will examine your teeth to check they are strong and healthy, and to look for anythhing that may affect this such as decay, surface wear, erosion or cracks in the enamel with a view to taking any preventative or corrective action as soon as possible.

Restorations

  • We look at how the existing fillings, crowns and other restorations you may have are performing, and for any early signs that they may be failing or leaking so that we can plan to extend their life and strength where possible.

Gums and Bone that supports the teeth

  • We look for gum disease and the presence of plaque and ‘tartar’ which causes almost all ‘problems’ in gums.

Under & Between teeth

  • Problems can occur in these areas which are not easily visible. As necessary, we take xrays so we can assess any changes.

Temperomandibular Joint (TMJ)

  • This is the joint, situated close to the ear, which hinges the lower jaw to the skull. TMJ problems can cause a range of symptoms from headaches to limited opening of the mouth. TMJ problems are often related to the position and way that your teeth bite together and we will check this.

Oral Cancer screening

  • A rare condition, but more prevalent in smokers and drinkers of alcohol. Find out more.
We check for any signs of this and other conditions affecting the mouth when we check the health of the surfaces of the inside of the mouth and lips, cheeks and tongue.

The outside of the mouth and Nodes & Glands

  • If glands are swollen or tender, it can be indicative of the presence of a low grade infection.

Aesthetics

  • We will listen to and address any concerns you may have regarding the appearance of individual teeth or your whole smile. We can offer solutions to many concerns about the appearance of teeth or existing fillings.
