January 2011 newsletter

Rosehill Dental Practice Ltd

February 2011

Well, there it is. The festive season is well and truly over and all we are left with are the diets and the promises of a fresh start.

In January 1994 it was a fresh start for me. Having spent 6 years ‘cutting my teeth’ (please excuse the pun) in Swinton it was time for me to be my own boss. On the 24th January I saw my first patients at Rosehill. I think about 6 people came that day to ‘try me out’ and I’m not sure who was more nervous – me or them.

So , here we are some 17 years later and we have been through alot togther. Stephen and I would like to thank you for all the support and trust you have shown us in that time. Below we have some very special offers based around the number 17 to help us celebrate. We hope you will be able to take advantage of them.

                                                         Warm regards

                                                                  Julie

My lucky number’s 17

The most requested treatment at Rosehill is smile whitening, so to celebrate 17 years of Rosehill we are offering a massive 17% off our at- home whitening system throughout February and March.

All you need to do is go to our website and print out the voucher displayed on screen. Then call Patricia to book your 2 appointments with us.

BUT THAT ISN’T ALL!

For the first 17 who book an appointment for their smile whitening we will give DOUBLE the number of syringes of the whitening gel so thats 6 instead of the normal 3 syringes. This will allow you to refresh that smile before a family celebration, a once in a life time holiday or an important interview. So hurry and book your visit today for your at home smile whitening soon. The offer runs until the end of March and DOUBLE gels to the first 17.

The voucher is transferrable, so if this is not for you, please feel free to pass it onto family or friends  who might benefit.
Please note that if they are not patients here at Rosehill we will need to do an initial assessment at the first visit to check suitablity of the treatment.

There’s something in the water...

I believe it was Harold Wilson who said ‘A week is a long time in politics’. Well it certainly is here at Rosehill.

Just as I was putting the final touches to our ‘January’ newsletter to let you know Sarah would soon be starting maternity leave, what happens but she has her little boy 4 weeks early. Despite his surprise arrival baby Oliver weighed in at a healthy 6lb 5 oz after a short labour. We wish Sarah and her family all the best.

We can also announce that our other Sarah, who works with Julie, is also expecting her first child in June. Congratulations to her and Ross.

The more astute of you will now have worked out that for a time in the summer we will have both Victoria and Sarah from the nursing team off. During this period we will be employing the services of our superb locum nurses who have served us so well in the past.

A Winter Warmer for You

                                  Slow-cooked Root Vegetable Soup

  Serves 6

Ingredients
To serve:
 Pre-heat the oven to gas mark 1, 275F (140C)

Equipment
You will also need a lidded flameproof casserole with a capacity of 6 pints (3.5 litres).

This recipe is taken from How to Cook Book Two and The Delia Collection: Soup.

Method

There’s not much to do here once everything is peeled and chopped. All you do is place everything in the
and bring it up to a gentle simmer, then put the lid on, place it in
the lowest part of the oven and leave it there for 3 hours, by which
time the vegetables will be meltingly tender.

Next remove the bay
leaves and process or liquidise the soup in several batches to a purée,
then gently re-heat, and serve the soup in bowls with a teaspoon of
Greek swirled into each and garnished with the fresh chives.
